To accomplish this, we keep the urine at a temperature of approximately 45° F. Low temperatures inhibit bacterial growth and slow the decomposition rate. Some companies prefer to freeze their urine products. We feel the freezing and thawing process degrades the quality of the complex organic molecules in the urine. We own and care for daily all deer used for urine collection. We feel it is crucial that deer are handled in a calm manner and receive the care needed to be in top physical shape.
